D’ARCY THOMPSON ZOOLOGY MUSEUM DIGITISATION PROJECT

The D’Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum in Dundee, Scotland houses a wonderful collection of specimens that the museum is in the process of digitising and making free to view for the public on Sketchfab. I had the privilege of working with Matthew Jarron and Dr. Caroline Erolin at the University of Dundee to contribute a selection of specimen scans so they could be added to the growing digital library.

Using Artec 3D scanning technology, photogrammetry and post-processing in ZBrush, each specimen was scanned and touched up to be made ready for viewing and download online. Check out the museum’s website to learn more.
